– 1/2″ bottom bar that mates with the center pin in the end bar for maximum gluing surface and strength.
– End bars that are a full 7/16″ thick, with long shoulders to stabilize the frame through extracting operations.
– Joints are snug and tight, but easy to fit together.
– Assemble yourself, glue, staple or nail, and you have a frame for the long haul.

What is the difference between grooved and wedged top bars, grooved or split bottom bars, holes or no holes in the end bars?

If you are using plastic foundation, purchase grooved top bars and grooved bottom bars. The plastic foundation will insert into both grooves easily.

If you are using wired wax or cutcomb foundation, purchase wedged top bars and grooved or split bottom bars, and make sure the end bars have holes. When you insert the wax foundation, cut the wedge out of the top bar, place the foundation, and return the wedge to it’s spot, only keep it snug against the foundation. Tack it down with staples or nails. Insert support pins into the holes on the side.
